Nokia 5310 vs 5610

NOKIA
xpressMusic
It's not very long ago when cellphone giant Nokia ventured into world of music phones, of curse with a bang as it usually does. It started back in 2005 with appearance of Nokia 3250, the smartphone designed espcially for young people and with an accent on music playback. A bit later Nokia N91 appeared, which became a flagship model offering an unparalled sound quality available on the market.
Nokia recently announced two new xpressMusic devices-Nokia 5310 and 5610. Lets take a look at what these music phones have to offer .......
Let's first take a look into the xpressMusic 5310 and see what's on offer. The first thing that comes to mind after seeing this less than 10mm thick music devices is that there must be some tradeoffs either in termsof features, functionality or in some cases, usability. However, that dosen't seem to be the issue with the 5310 xpressMusic. The first look catches our attention with its slim form factor, bright colors and solid build quality. But what's most impressive in this phone is its extensive range of music features. From onboard 3.5mm audio jack and Biuetooth stereo to a memory expension card slot and dedicated music playback buttons, you'd hard-pressed to find a music-phone as slim and feature-packrd as to 5310 xpressMusic.

Feature packed
There's something about the 5310 that makes you want to pick it up for use. The combination of a 9.9mm-slim profile, bright color lines (red or blue) and a rather simple yet trendy design somehow makes the phone likeable for most people on first impressions. It also helps that once you pick it up, it's got confortable and solid feel. Even through the exterior casing is predominantly plastic, there are no plasticky feeling keys on the phone
Since many thin phones these days uses a sin gle prot for charging, headset and data transfer which usually means that you cannot do more than one task at a time. The 5310, however, comes with three individual ports onboard for each of the functions, includingone of data transfer via microUSB. here its pleasantl surprising to find a port for a 3.5mm audio jack, especially on a sub-10mm slim phone. this must surely be one feature that will win the hearts of music junckies who like the freedom of using their ownearphones. On the back of the headset, you can find the 2-megapixel camera and two tiny speaker slit. The camera lens just out slightl, so extra will have to be taken to avoid scratches and cracks. There are no LED lights or self-portrait mirrors, so its a pretty basic feature set for the camera.
The Nokia 5310 may be the most feture packed cellular in the xpressMusic series, but not many handsets out there can claim to offer more complrte music phone package
in addition to the 3.5mm audio jack, the 5310 also offers A2DP Bluetooth stereo for wireless conectivityto compatable stereo speakers and headset. An onboard microSD card slot accept upto 4GB cpacities, ensuring you won't run out of storage space for your music, videos and photos. Even if you run out of songs to listen, there's always the FM stereo radio.
The music player sports various song formats and can display album art.It synchronizes with windows media player 10 and 11.the process of Window Media Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) encryptionmeans user can play songs purchased from The Nokia Music Storewhen it is launched here next year. the 2-inch QVGA TFT display is crisp in its image quality with realistic color, thanks ti a 16m (million-color) support.
Activating the flight mode allows the phone to be used without cellular functions

Performance & Battery life
Our test sets didn't gave us any dropped calls or poor reception while the speakerphone volume was sufficiently loud and clear. Music playback quality was excellent as usuall, weather it was via onboard speaker or the earphones, thoudht we wish Nkia had thought to bundle a more comfortable pair of earbuds. According to the company's fact sheet, the 5310 is equipped with a dedicated audio chip, which may be one of the reasons for the batter sound quality. The new series 40 3rd Edition user interface may look a little more complecated at first, especially when you compare it with earlier Series 40 phones. But it is really not to different to master. Once you get the hang of it, it actually makes it easy to access commonly used features on the handset. The 5310 is rated for 5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days on standby.
xpressMusic 5310's Big Brother xpressMusic 5610
The 5610 is obviosly going to the same party as did the xpressMusic 5310. With a similar color palette at work, the slider form isn't as trim as its "little brother"; in fact ,at 17mm the 5610 is nearly twice as thick.
On the surface the 5610 is a standard slider design. The top half of the phone features call buttons, sellect buttons and four-way directional key for menu navigation and music control. Under the slider is a well spaced numeric keypad whichis easy to use for and messaging. Below the screen Nokia has added a spring-loaded switch for fast access to the music player and FM radio. The 5610 ships with a 3.2- megapixel camera an 1GB micr
